Alice, Elyse and Dianne met last night to read through the piece. But it is quickly apparent that you can’t just “read” through this piece without everyone being in agreement about what happens in each section. In Section I, there are groups of sung harmonics, and solo lines. Reading Robert’s directions, most of us play the harmonics, while only the flute solo (Robert), piccolo and bass flute play the solo lines. After meeting last night, Elyse went through the whole piece and drew up a road map for us to refer to. There are already a couple of questions about things and Elyse is going to be our conduit for communicating with Robert on technical questions. There’s no sense in all 6 of us emailing him!
